Advanced Turf Care was founded in 2019 by Andrew Powell, bringing over 20 years of hands-on lawn care and horticultural experience. After starting his first lawn business in Georgia, Andrew relocated to Charlotte with a mission to offer high-end, honest, and environmentally responsible lawn care. What began as a solo venture has grown into a trusted, family-owned company serving Greater Charlotte and beyond — built on a passion for quality, a commitment to people, and a deep love for growing healthy lawns.

Hi, I’m Andrew — and this is my amazing wife, Carly. I’m originally from Roswell, Georgia, but I now proudly call Charlotte home. What a beautiful city y’all have! Thanks for welcoming us.
My landscaping journey began early — I started cutting grass for my neighbors in third grade, and I’ve never looked back. Even then, I knew I was meant to be in the lawn and landscape industry. I’ve always loved to work hard, think creatively, and explore better ways to get great results. As it turns out, those are pretty useful traits when it comes to growing healthy turf!
I officially entered the industry working part-time at Pike Nursery in Roswell during school. That led me to Athens, GA, where I worked in wholesale nursery operations before returning to Roswell to focus on turf care. What started as a small operation eventually grew into a full-scale landscape business. That’s when I realized my real passion was turf — and I couldn’t let it go.
After moving to Charlotte in 2018 and spending time working in commercial landscaping, I couldn’t shake the itch to build something of my own again. In September 2019, I followed that calling and launched Advanced Turf Care — and we’ve been growing ever since!
My wife Carly, a Charlotte native, is a big part of this journey too. She has a great eye for grass and fully supports what we do. Carly graduated from South Point High School in Belmont and later from Salem College in Winston-Salem. And then there’s Boss — our Springer Spaniel and unofficial turf inspector. He’s 10 years old now and prefers cozy days on the sofa, but he used to ride along with me every day.
